Anup has been holding back - nice blog. I'm anxious to read your post.

Here's a study from the CBO on the virtues of raising CAFE standards v. a fuel tax. Pretty interesting, but not sure how far it goes. ftp://ftp.cbo.gov/49xx/doc4917/12-24-03_CAFE.pdf

Greetings from India!
I have been having a problem with trackback. I tried to trackback Tom's comment on http://fuelconsumption.blogspot.com/ However, I could not do it. Probably blogger does not allow it to ping here in the free version. Anyway, I posted a comment there about how CBO and NHTSA keep doing this every year, releasing studies about changes in CAFE standards and proposals for a tax increase.
