or should I say Ram Vilas Paswan? Today's editorial in Hindu discusses how Lalu Prasad brought a lot of backward classes to the polling booths. Bihar is widely acknowledged to be one of the worst governed states of India. Inspite of being rich in terms of natural resources, Bihar has seen unprecedented levels of inequality, corruption and lawlessness.  All of this makes it a very interesting place to observe from the political perspective. It seems that in the recent elections, Lalu Prasad's MY (Muslim-Yadav) strategy did not work as well. What is more, the voter turnout was one of the lowest in past several decades. While many will breathe easier knowing that Lalu Prasad is no longer in power, it is likely that he will be a part of any power sharing arrangement that evolves in the next months. Otherwise, it will be time for Bihar to go to polls again next year.

There is a Train at 7.30Am in the morning which is supposed to leave at 7.30 am from Bangarpet Junction Karnataka, to Bangalore. I resident of kalyan city distict- thane wanted to request u that in shahad-pin code(421103) the place after kalyan station towards kasara line. I want to request u to create a railway bridge in shahad as there is no railway bridge for crossing the line.
Every year at least avearge 100 people died in shahad due to mail and local trains.On 31-10-2006 arrond 8pm a child and a old man died on spot.
Every year new M.L.A come and they ensure that they will make the bridge but after elections nobody is coming and people have to suffer.
I know that u the honorable LALU PRASAD YADAY who have been doing so well for railway for the past three year is mind blowing we know that only u can do this work so i request u to please look after this matter and solve this problem as early as u can.

Sir,

I want to gove u some information regarding the
malpractices being done in the indian railways. I was
traveling from New Delhi to Chennai on GT Express on
24/12/2006 .

My new LAptop which i had reciently purchased from
New delhi worth rs 60000 was stolen . the incident
happen from the HA1 compartment which is the most safe compartment in any train as it is having the
AC1 berths. I was travelling in AC2 in HA1 , seath no was 1 .

The incident happen on the night of 24/12/2006 . The
main thing is that all the baggage which was not locked was there but only laptop from the laptop bag
was missing. It was clear that someone from the train only has taken it out. My seat was at the corner means
AC1 no onw was there.

The TC Mr G l Mahato was the ticket checker when the
incident happens.I suspect him as he is the one
who do not even providing the documents fro the FIR etc. It was only after that i and few passengers insisted that he gave me the complaint book and FIR form.

Please i have a lot of faith on u . Please have the
inquiry on him as i suspect on him about the theft.
I have lodged the FIR to GRP Itersi also regarding the
same.

My father is the govt employee and it is only after
4-5 years of saving he has given to me as a gift. Pls
help me as i am very very upset regarding the incident.

Laluji,

Adding to the ealier comments on the lost of the laptop from the GT Express. How can be it possible that in AC2 compartment some passenger has been alloted the seat i.e berth no: 2 without the information of the TT(COR).

I enquired from the TC that to whom u alloted the seat he said i dont know. We all know that AC TC is also different so how can it be that somebody took the seat /berth for 3-4 hrs and then left from that berth without the information of the TC(COR).

TC G L Mahato is very unaware of all the details then can i ask u sir that what he is doing in the railway compartment just stealing the luggage of the passenger. Second submission of mine is that not that only is when was asked for the complain book not even handed over the complian book to me bu was constantly misguiding me regarding the case.

Pls i request ur kindness to order the indore GRP to investigate the case as if u give the orders then no body in future will be able to do this to any passengers in future.

Pls as u hv improved the railways department to its roots then u pls help me also in this case as that laptop is more then anything for me as it was given by my father to me , after a lot of hard work etc. Pls sir help me and i have faith that if u will be able to read this u will definately do this . Without ur help i know i am a common person and i know that nothing will be done for me.

Dear Lalooji,
It is generally observed that Ist A.C.,IInd A.C., IIIrd A.C. and sleeper coaches do not have proper place for keeping passengers luggage and usually the luggage is kept either below the lower seat or in between and alos in common passage.This causes unneccessary problem to the co-passengers.
It is sujjested that for the time being one corner cabin of a coach is converted into the luggage coach where the luggage of the passengers is kept under the supervision of railway staff with a reasonable luggage charge for the escess weight permissible on a ticket.Only,small handbags are to be allowed inisde the coach.This will ensure the safety and security of passengers luggage, on one hand while will provide comfort to the passengers on the other along withh the revenue to the railway.
Short fall of berths can be mittigated by adding more coaches in the train and in the future the new coaches should be built with a luggage cabin.

A hearty congratulations for improving the working of the railways. Thanks a ton for providing numerable booking facilities like increasing the days within which the tatkal tickets can be booked, online booking facilites, reservation 3 months prior to travel date, etc.

The online ticket booking facility is one of the most unique services that has been started recently which has helped so many customers or passangers to avail the benefits of booking the tickets sitting at their home or offices and get rid of hassel free booking of tickets without standing in the que for hours together.

My only suggestion to you is to extend the facility to Change in the Boarding of a train for E-tickets which is currently available only for I-tickets. Passenger who book their E-tickets are not allowed or permitted to change the boarding station for the said ticket and the same facility is aailable to the passenger if he books through I-ticket.

When such excellent services and facilities are provided to passengers who book I-tickets, then why not provide the same to those who book E-tickets. If the said facility can be extended to passengers booking E-tickets, numerous number of passengers will be benefitted by the said facility and will be very much obliged and thankful to you for extending the said services for their benefit.

I am a govt. servant and a daily passenger from Gurgaon. As you are aware that Govt. office timings are 9.30 a.m. to 6.00p.m. the only train which was suitable for us was 4 RD which used to come at gurgaon at 8.12 hours and right time of arrival at Old Delhi Railway station was 9.10 a.m. but eversince the job of meter gauge has started in this line the timing was changed to 7.45 a.m. and the time of reaching old delhi was same but though it was for sometime all the passengers were suffering. BUT NOW THIS TRAIN HAS BEEN SENT TO TILAK BRIDGE AND TIME OF ARRIVAL AT GURGAON HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 7.42. THIS HAS CREATED A LOT OF INCONVENIENCE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC WHO WERE COMING TO OLD DELHI RAILWAY STATION. IN THE EVENING ALSO THERE IS NO TRAIN AFTER 6.00 P.M. TOWARDS REWARI FROM OLD DELHI RAILWAY STATION. IT IS THEREFORE URGED AND REQUESTED THAT THIS TRAIN SHOULD BE UPTO OLD DELHI RAILWAY STATION AND IN THE EVENING THE TIME AS WAS EARLIER I.E. 6.25 SHOULD NOT BE CHANGED. I Mrs.Basar Shabana Feroz appointed as SEO[Special Executive Officer] by Govt.of Maharashtra is bringing you a letter about my husband.
Most respectfully, I approach your kind honor to relieve me from miserable condition due to denial of justice to my husband by the Railway administration coupled with my family members prolonged sickness by issuing favorable directions to Central Railway administration.

Though, I do not desire to encroach upon your valuable time and busy schedule, I most respectfully wish to place my grievance in brief for appreciation.

1) My husband Shri Feroz Ismail was engaged as Casual Labour on daily rate in MTP
{MUMBAI} C.Rly on 19/3/1987 and brought on monthly rate on 13/3/1988.
2) He was working as MR Mason in MTP {MUMBAI} since 2/2/1989.
3) He was screened for permanent posting as Mason by DRM CSTM vide his letter
NO. BB/P/182/Eng/Absorption/MR/ART dated 6/3/1997 and was posted against
work charged post in construction (Class-III).
4) However, without advising him about screening for absorption in Class-IV category
and without sending him for such screening and without attending such screening his
name was forcibly included in the screening list for Class-IV category an made
entries in his service Register.
5) This whole Issue was represented through recognized Union of C.Rly. i.e. National
Railway Mazdoor Union to whom also admn. had not replied giving the position
stated under item 4 and mainted their stand.
My humble submission is that the administration should produce documentary
evidence about calling him, sending him and attended by him in the screening conducted
for absorption in Class-IV category.

On the contary, Railway administration had issued a letter dated 6/3/1997 absorbing
him in Class-III category (Ref. Letter NO. and dated in para (3) but not implemented.

This blatant injustice made serious effect on his health and he became a multi-disease person, i.e. high Blood Pressure, Diabetes and heart problem. Ultimately, he was operated for major bypass in Jaslok Hospital in Nov 2006.

My miseries compounded with serious stomach operation of my old mother in law, serious kidney trouble of my son aged 16 years who requires constant indoor treatment which is not available in Railway hospitals, serious condition of myself undergoing treatment for critical aliments.
Even in these adverse circumstances, he has helped many including Railway officials in getting adequate and timely blood supply.

This blatant injustice made serious effect on his health and he became a multi-disease person, i.e. high Blood Pressure, Diabetes and heart problem. Ultimately, he was operated for major bypass in Jaslok Hospital in Nov 2006.

He was honored at the hands of Hon'ble Ministers for Parlimantary Affairs Shri Prithvirajaji Chavan on 26th September 2006 with "Sarvodaya Manavata Seva Purascar” for his exemplary work of assisting the bomb blast victims in reaching nearest hospitals, collecting valuable belonging of victims and de-posting them with Station Manager Santa Cruz which otherwise would have disappeared.

I most humbly and sincerely pray you kind self to remove the injustice done to my husband with your gracious order to regularly promote him in Class-III post as per the C.Rly. Administration's letter dated 6/3/1997.

Sir,
I Payal shah am forwarding this complaint to the Indian railway on behalf of the MST pass holder traveling in SHANTI EXPRESS between BARODA TO AHMEDABAD in the ladies coach.
The problem is that every alternate day we have a half coach, and there are almost more then 200 ladies traveling in the coach between Ahmedabad to Baroda and the problem situation is worsening with the passing of the day. The number of ladies doing daily up down is increasing with every passing day and the problem is increasing more rapidly then that.
There is no space to even stand properly let alone sit down. The suffocation is creating health problem for many ladies who are aged and pregnant. This is a humble request from our side to have a full coach for ladies in the train. These are only some of the problems that we have mentioned but there are others too like fighting for space to stand or even move towards the toilet, facing this problem on regular basis is affecting our health and work too.
I hope there will be positive reply and an action taken on our request.

by train last 7 years from sangli to kolhapur.there is one passanger train from satara to kolhapur.
near about 2000 passangers are travelling by this train.
At evening only one passenger for these serviceman for return back.From 1st July 2007 there is change
in time of Mahalaxmi Express for departure from kolhapur is 8.30 pm.Due to this change in timetable it is inconvenent for these 2000 serviceman for go back.So between 6.35 to 8.30 pm.if rail department
put new passenger in this time from kolhapur to kirloskarwadi, so many problem soved.

The misbehavior was so shameful that a human being with flesh and blood would never tolerate. When I offered to introduce myself as a professor; my woes went up disproportionately. However, I tolerated that misbehavior and wanted to draw your attention for a permanent solution. This sort of behavior was common to all customers and an outsider told me that it was a plea to extract cash from the people. They tolerated because they had their work with them. To my belief, if cargo booking is showing substantial growth in spite of all these things; it will go multifold with good and co-operative behavior.

I have confirmed the reservation all of the members except below 5 years kids from Bharatpur to Ujjain.One person with black coat came there and apply the panelty on a kid who is below 5 years today 28/07/2007 in S5 compartment.He has no any identity.When my brother demand his id proof ,He abuses and warning that "I will throw from the train". At last he has taken Rs.1250.

i want to attract your attention towards the on of the incident, that took place with me when i was travelling from surat to chandigarh on 10 07 2007 in paschim exp. my ticket was not confirm(it was waiting). at night i was sitting on the berth of some other passenger, who was from surat. his tickat was RAC. he was sleeping with his friend(whose ticket was confirm). at 1:00 in the morning, two police men came and wake me up and asked me for my ticket(the two were not wearing any name plate) , i showed it to them, then they said your ticket is not confirm and still you are sitting in the sleeper coach. i told them all the truth. they took me out of train and said 'agar tu kisi aurat ko cherdta, kisi ka saman chori karta, ya koi bomb blast karta to kaun zimmevar hota'. then they ask me to call the boy who gave his seat to me. they said to him that'saale agar ye(to me) kuch kar deta, kisi aurat ko cherdta, kisi ka samaan le kar bhag jata, koi bomb blast kar deta to kaun zimmevar hota'. they said him that' agar aisa kuch hota to tu jhe sidha faansi hoti'. but the police men send him in the coach free. i told them that'i m an engineer, my father is in central exise, i m not that kind of boy, that you are thinking of. they said me that 'saale tere ghar wale bhi to tere jaise ho sakte hain.
they said me' tere upar to case hoga, tu to jail jayega'.
i said them 'sir, i m an engineer, mera future kharab ho jayega'.
they start harashing me.(i was really frecked out, as it was first time when i was travelling alone, and it was about half an hour long incident)
one of them said to me 'saab ki sewa kar de'.
i clearly said , what do you want?
he said Rs100.
i said SORRY SIR , I DONT HAVE THAT MUCH AMOUNT.
they said 'TERE UPAR TO CASE HI HOGA.
i said that, wait sir, i will get it from some body. i get to my bag and gave them Rs100. he said now you are free.
now from then i decided to not travel in railways.

Aap toh jaante hi hai ki hum jaise logo ke saath badaa hi buri tarah se pesh aate hai.Humme jab aapne gaav jaana hota hai toh humme train pakadne ke liye 4 train chod kar kurla pahoochna padtaa hai. Aur khass kar ke jaab ladies hoti hai aur choote bachee hote hai bahut ki taklif hoti hum aap se kehna chate hai ki hamare yahaa tarapur me B.A.R.C. aur T.A.P.S bhi jahaa par bhi bahut hi zyaada tar uttar bhartiya rahte hai. hum aapse itna hi kehna chate hai ki aap bass hamare yahaa se bihar jaane ke liye koi nayi train ne chaloo kijiye kyunki hamare yahaase keval ek train hai jo "AWADH EXPRESS" hi hai joo boisar me rukhti hai. aur ek train hai Bandra se hokar valsad hote hue patna jaane walii train hai jo boisar me nahi rukhti hai isliye hamee train pakdne ke liye kurla jaana padta hai. aap se hamari binti hai ki aap humara sahyoog kijiyee aur kuch uchiid upay dhoondiye

Dear Railway Minister shri Laloojee / Thiru Velu / HIgher officials of Indian Railway

While opening Salem Division please consider following matters.

1. Kindly Start Morning Chennai Egmore train from Ernakulam Junction around 7.30 a.m and arriving at Egmore around 8.30 pm and its other side train leaving
Egmore around 7 am and arriving at Ernakulam Junction around 8 pm.

2.Extending Dadar - Yeswanthpur express to Ernakulam Junction .Previously
Netravati express was running via cbe,salem, Krishnaragapurm now that
train is diverted via Konkan.So there is a lack of train from Ernakulam ,Cbe and Salem to Interior Maharashtra , Karnataka .This wii also reduce passenger traffic from Bangalore to Coimbatore to some extend.

3. Extending Madurai - Kollam fast passenger to Ernakulam Junction. There is also lack of day train from Madurai,Thirunelveli, to Cochin, Alleppy region

4.Also consider to convert following train as daily train

a.Ernakulam - Patna Express
b.Trivandrum - Howrah Express
c.Trivandrum - Gorakhpur Express
d. Kochuveli - Hubli Express
e. Kochuveli - Bangalore express . this can be extended to Mysore.

Sri Lalu Prasad Yadav Ji,
This is regarding the train service from Bangalore to Mangalore.This is an humble request to the Government from all the people who are frequent travellers from Bangalore to Mangalore and other places in coastal karnataka.
We need a Rail Passenger service for this route.
This rail service will cater to all the coastal districts from our state capital .

Its such an unfortunate state of affairs that until now nobody has taken interest to restore or provide the services.
Queries regarding this falls on deaf ears and innumerable reasons are stated by our government officials who are right now taking care.
The hard-ship which we undergo during bus travel is better not stated. The roads are with only pot-hole through out the journey especially in the ghat sections of "SAKALESHPURA-SHIRADI" and "DHARMASTALA-CHARMUDI".
Right now there is only goods train service past two years.
We feel that there is lack of enthusiasm from the part of the government to convert this line to a passenger rail.
I hope by writing this small letter I am able to convince the higher authorities to look into this and do the needful.
