Is This “CHAK DE RAILWAYS”???

We were going to attend the marriage of our colleague and were so happy. The marriage was at FEROZEPUR CANTT (PUNJAB) and we planned to catch the train No 2137, PUNJAB MAIL from NEW DELHI. All of us were traveling after long time due to busy professional life. We are working at SIMBHAOLI, Distt.Ghaziabad, UP, and the nearest reservation counter is at GARHMUKTESHWAR about 12 KM away from Simbhaoli. I went there for reservation on dated 26.02.08 at 14.00 PM but there was a big display board showing “NO RESERVATION BECAUSE OF COMPUTER SYSTEM FUILURE. I had to go to HARUR JN, about 28 KM from Simbhaoli and got our seats reserved in TATKAL

When we reached at New Delhi Railway station on dated 27.02.08, we all three noticed many improvements and we started discussing the makeover of railways by HON. LALU PRASAD YADAV and recent railway budget. My two colleagues were going to Punjab first time. As I am from Ferozepur it self, I was leading them and telling them about the journey. “This train is one of the oldest and excellent trains,” I told them.

The scheduled departure of train was 21.45 PM and it was late by an hour. We observed very hustle and bustle at platform No 3 where train was expected. When the train arrived, the entire mob starts entering in all of the reserved compartments. I thought, they must not be aware about the reservation and have to vacate the reserved seats later. When we locate our births, they were also occupied. I request them to leave but they did not respond to us. I again said that these three births are reserved but they all started laughing at us and said that “Today there are no any reservation. We will go like this only and do what ever you can do”. I thought that there is no need to mess up with them, as I was confidant that TTE would come soon and would give us our berths.
Train halted at New Delhi railway station for half an hour and I could not be able to trace any TTE or security staff. As train left the station, they were drinking in front of us and were chatting in high tone. After listen to them I came to conclusion that all were uneducated, villagers, and farmers and have attended a rally at New Delhi and was going back to Punjab. My friends were looking at me as I only can understand their language (Punjabi) and I was looking at our tickets and our births on which they were laying and sleeping and we were sitting very tightly. Soon we felt that all other passengers are also suffering. Some were traveling with their families and ladies and mob was behaving in the same manners to all. We and all other passengers were feeling so uncomfortable and insecure and desperately waiting for railway staff to come and help us out.
But it was strange night… in a super fast train, sleeper class, reserved compartment… no one came for checking and all mob traveled without any tickets and we and all others.. Who planned their journey in advance, spent their time and efforts for reservation, spend handsome amount of hard earned money, avoid any miss behave… were traveled like fools. It was really a horrifying and painful journey till the end.

I am from Mumbai, and I travel in local train on all 3 routes daily, i.e. harbour, central & western.
I am much aware of the rush and the rush hour.
I have been hearing so many criticizes from opposition about your railway budget this year, but I really like your hard dedicated work, I also heard opposition saying that lalu ji should have increased 12 coach to 15 coach and frequency of the train, but I am very sure that in Mumbai even 15 coach train wont work, and for solving this problem I have very good idea which will surely work, If you are interested to welcome a new idea then Please write back to me and write back to me with your own email ID of send me your mobile No. so that I can be sure that my idea is not going to any wrong hands to be gutted.

While lot of good things have been done by Railways after Laluji has taken over, but sorry to say the email service for booking and the toll free service is still at the lowest ebb. When we had the 131 or 139's it was much better.It took me 3 working days to get someone on the phone an as usual the young chap was behaving as if he is doing 'meherbani' to me. I wish to request your goodselfthat since there are many people belonging to Barabanki, Gonda, Balrampur, Sarawasti, Bahraich, Basti, Siddharth Nagar, Sant Kabeer Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Maharajganj, Khushi Nagar and Gorakhpur Districts.People from this region form a major labour force in Mumbai city, and they find it difficult to go to their native place during holiday season.
So,we request you to start a regular superfast train from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Kurla, Mumbai) via Bhusawal, Itarsi,Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Gonda, Basti to Gorakhpur Junction.

Namsate .Firstly we would like to congradulate you for achieving what no one else has achieved so far by making Indian Railways a profit making organization.


We stay at Indore and previously there was a direct train to Ajmer
( khandwa Ajmer express – meter guage) But unfortunately the train was stopped as Ratlam – Ajmer is now on broad gauge and so we only have a train from Ratlam for Ajmer where as Indore – Ratlam route has to be covered by road. almost 300-400 passengers a face the inconvenience daily

Lalooji , my daughter is in Mayo college Ajmer and , we have to go to the school at least 6 times a year. Apart from us there are almost 300-400 passengers who face the inconvenience daily who were earlier traveling by the Khanwa-Ajmer train.
At the time of URS also we have many pilgrims heading for the dargah of khwaja ji. With no direct connection it becomes very difficult for people with small children and luggage to reach Ajmer from Indore

Specially when Indore – Ratlam is also broad gauge with trains like Avantika express running thru Ratlam towards Mumbai we see no reason why we cannot have a direct connection
We hereby request you to kindly look into the matter and we are confident that you will be able to find a solution for us

Mostly poor people send their children for studies and now today u closed the school. As u already said in your interview Sir, and even i am also very much aware of yours contribution for poor people, u r always here for poor ones.School Fees of students is low here but now sir, where the poor people send their childrens for studies, they wont effort to pay higher fees and donations. Dear sir,
I have an idea for the increasing convenience of railway journey. Many of people are always (including me) confusing for searching of the particular couch in the train. It is because due lack of continue serial no for the couch. Presently the system is S1,S2 S3, If it is general UR or something, if it is AC couch A1, A2 so on ..... Due to this un even nos. or codes searching a couch during journey it is quite difficult and many times not possible to catch couch and failing to catch their relatives and friends.

To remedy this problem It is better to do in the following code:

GN 01
GN 02
SL 03
SL 04
AC 05
AC 06
AC 07 ....... so on.

In this code the first two letters will show couch type and next two nos. will indicate the serial no of the couch in the train. So that passengers while running, to catch the couch they get some idea at which couch they have and how many they have to cross for our couch like that. Passengers will estimate some idea and time.

Second thing: At the same time the codes written on the couch should be clear, big and visible.

Firstly i wish you many more happy years of good health for your wonderful work in the Indian railways, I would just like to bring to your notice , that when i was travelling from Chennai to Delhi on 17-4-08 By the Tamil Nadu Express . the food offered was good and i enjoyed it but however when i was returning from Delhi to Chennai by the Grand Trunk Express 24-04-08 the food that was given aweful and tasteless n was not prepared with any idea of cutomer satisfaction the prices were very expensive compared to the Tamil Nadu , I hope u will take my grievences and try to do something about it as we are regular pasengers by that train and so are the other passengers who wanted to voice their opinions ..

which was started in late 90's from sambalpur,orissa to Nizamuddin, but then it was extended upto puri, and now it is running from vishakhapatna to amritsar, which is a long route and the train never maintains it time more over this run thrice a week due to which we are not able to get ticket, we want either you can make it run daily or at least you can increase the cota of the motherstation

Please help us by allotting regular official space, our family running omelet lorry since 35 years near by boundary of Surat railway station. My family is belongs to Muslim and I have four daughter and I am heart patient and my husband is physically weak. Whole family responsibility is on income of running omelet lorry.

Since few months some anti social elements supported by some corrupted Surat’s railway officer started to harass us and forcing us to close our small self employed business running with grace and help of Indian railway. they have added few lorry near by our lorry and getting happta from anti social elements associated with few corrupted railway officers of surat .We self employed small family rely on this income only and have no saving or no other scope to do some earning work.

Anti social elements are harassing passing through girls and women. No one can complain about any nuisance, harassment, traffic jam or antisocial adda type movement. Our lorry was been never been was any type of nuisance. Peacefully our family running small lorry since 35 years and at cheapest rate we are doing omelet and eggs preparations. No complain registered with local police or railway for our lorry or our family members.

Due to harassment of anti-social elements adjoining our lorry we could not earn as we had in past. And our family is losing income day by day. We are facing hardship. If no proper help given to my family, whole family will committee suicide.
Sir, your graceful acts are praised by all. Even coolies also have benefited. please do something to help us and like our self employed families who are running small business with help of railway authority.

Respected Laluji,

I have travelled through Shatabdi Trains (in the morning hours) on the various routes like Delhi - Lucknow, Delhi - Amritsar, Delhi - Bhopal etc. in the month of June and July 2008.During my journey I have noticed that a lot of water (mineral water) is being wasted in the coach.

I have a suggestion that the Department should serve half liter bottle instead of one liter which will save the wastage of the water as well as the costing to the Railways.

As per my notice no one is consuming the whole bottle in the coach,few passengers are there even they don't touch the bottle and before approaching the last station all the bottles containing more than 500 ml water is being collected by caterer's staff which goes to scrap immediately where we lost a lot of mineral water.

We hope that you will take some step to "SAVE THE WATER"

Your help will mean a great relief for not only us but for lakhs of people of our Nadia district and West Bengal state. This will be the first temple of sai baba in West Bengal. Please help us so that we could achieve what we have fixed as target for ourselves few years back.

HISTORY Of SHIBPUR SAI TEMPLE
Way back in 1850, a wealthy villager of Shibpur village of Nadia’s Nakashipara established a temple in the compound of his house to offer daily puja in it. He never took any help from anybody but set up the temple on his own cost.
Past facts did not establish whether Ramdas set up any idol of Shirdi Sai Baba as he was alive then. But so far the information are available, the daily prayer was stopped in the temple of Ramdas in 1920. The reason behind it is hitherto unknown.
The prayer stopped and the temple slowly became birth place of venomous snake with dense bush and cobwebs surrounding it. Forget offering prayer, local residents dared not to go anywhere near to the temple site fearing snakes would take their lives.
However, as lights follow the darkness, rainbow follows rain; villagers of Shibpur in 1992 saw a neem tree sprouting out of the dense bush adjoining the crumbling structure of the temple.
What made them more surprised that deadly snakes also stated fleeing after the neem tree was born there. With snakes making exit, villagers started cleaning up a part of bush and a green field was born there with children began playing near to it. A way to enter the temple was also found thereafter.
The villagers took all these things lightly till 1999 when during Guru Purnima, Sai Baba, who died in the year 1918, appeared in the night dream of Amit Biswas, the great grandson of Ramdas.
In the dream Baba told Amit that long before Ramdas used to offer prayer to him in the temple where the neem tree has suddenly sprouted up.
“Your great grandfather used to offer daily puja to me 100 years ago. He was my devotee and used to pray for me sitting in the temple for hours. But all have gone after that. So I have planted the neem tree there to eradicate all evils. I now want the prayer should be restarted in the temple. Make that temple a heaven for the people. Whoever would visit the temple would get all he/she wants,” Baba told Amit.
Amit woke up with the divine instruction next morning and rushed to the temple area. He cleaned up the area and got rid of all bushes and cobwebs remaining there.
Amit established a clay idol of Sai Baba and began offering puja. After he spread the message, he got from baba in sleep, to local villagers, the villagers got inspired. Leaving fear and evil spirit behind them, the villagers started pouring in the temple and began offering pujas.
Believe it or not, within days Sai Baba’s promise started becoming true. After offering puja in the in the temple, though dilapidated, a woman gave birth to her first baby after 12 years of her marriage. The doctor had predicted that she could not give birth medically. She is not alone, some villagers, who were suffering from chronic and incurable diseases, got cured after offering prayer to Saibaba in the temple.
Stunned villagers stood up and took a resolution that they would protect the temple at any cost.
In 2003, advised by the local villagers, Amit formed a trustee committee to rebuild the temple. Nadia-Shibpur-Sai-Sadguru Samity was formed thereafter.
The resolution the committee took was that a new structure for the temple would be made and the trustee board would work for the amelioration of the poor people in the area. They also took oath that organization would work for all social causes like campaigning against dowry, drug addiction of students.
The committee then began working according to their resolution and campaigned extensively against dowry, child marriag, drug addiction etc etc. Worthy to mention, the villagers also started getting success. Their achievements began spreading like wild fire in the villages of Nakashipara and out of it.
A national award winner and a famous sculptor Subir Paul could not sit idle after hearing the activities of the Sai Sad Guru Samity.
Inspired by the activities, the sculptor constructed a human seize fiber-glass idol of the Baba.
Paul himself admitted that while making the idol for six months some miraculous spirit grappled him.
“I never made such perfect structure like Sai Baba before,” he said.
Getting the idol quite unexpectedly, the committee thus could not sit idle too. Although not financially equipped, but the villagers began constructing the temple.
They put together bamboos and erected a structure in the temple areas keeping the old structure intact. The idol seated on a golden chariot has been kept under the thatched temple now in place.
Currently, the devotees offer their daily pujas, arti and vajan, two times daily. Trustee committee has recently begun collecting subscription from the people of all walks of lives to build up the permanent concrete structure.
The committee has also begun celebrating Sai festival for five days in the third week of April every year. Once the permanent structure will be in place, crores of people would visit the temple and their woes would get healed.
The hands thus are stretched for help from anybody who wants to cure the woes of the people.

The railways is the largest single unit which covers the length and breadth of the country .
Everything it does effects the environment radically as India has the largest railway track put in place and the trains cover so many kilometers
I have found that the sides of the tracks are littered with garbage thrown by the passengers
This must be case on the land and river bodies and the main culprit is the railways .
When there is so much improvement in the facilities provided at the railway stations and the also in the trains which has used technology in the best way this same could definitely be put to waste management also
I The cows and other animals are dying due the ingestion of this waste on the railway tracks all over the country
I hope you will consider this very seriously as the problem is becoming monumental in the countrysides .
The railways needs to have a department exclusively for the environment problems that such a huge enterprise offloads on to the country during operations.

One additional very important point . The railways has a lot of land where trees which are very rare and indigenous and maybe extinct and also very old are seen .
With some thought, some of them can be saved and also make sure that afforestation is taken up with alacrity on both sides of the tracks to compensate for the large no of beautiful trees which have been cut to make way for electrification.
The fact that these tracks pass through forests where wildlife is being mindlessly run over is just another point which says that we have not considered all aspects when these tracks were laid through forests.

On 4th Oct 2008 2:05 PM at Pune Junction my train was supposed to come but was delayed by 2 hrs. When i Enquired at 2:30 AM it was told to me that It will come on Platform#1 and will come at 3:00 AM, we waited there and the platform was changed which was announced only once. Due to the noise I was not able to hear to which platform it will be coming so obviously I went to the Enquiry counter where I asked for the platform. The person on duty replied rudely that You all foolish people donot listern to announcements and come to us.

According to me it is duty of the Person at Enquiry to solve the problem of customers, Please correct me if I am wrong at any point.

Strict actions must be taken against such people if you want Indian railway to grow.
