It has been some time since our last Update on Climate Change Search Statistics. There is a difference in the chart this time! Until this month, I was not including Global Warming on the chart, because it was overshadowing all other results by a factor of four or five. This time, however, I get to include the trend on global warming because searches for the term "hybrid car" overshot searches for "global warming" in April'05 as per overture. So, here you have it, the effect of a Two Plus dollar a gas on our search statistics!
P.S. Overture screwed up in March, and would not allow me to track the February results, so I have assumed the same numbers from January 2005 for February 2005.
Nice to have you back from your written generals, Anup. Now get back to work on your presentation for your orals!
What in the name of god made Hybrids jump like that? Being on the cover of Wired?

See if you can spot a similarity in the graph above and the one posted by GreenCarCongress. I may still be premature to say that Hybrids have arrived, but I remain bullish on short to medium term prospects for Hybrids, specially given my personal projection that oil prices will remain in $45-50 dollar per barrel for another year or so atleast.

The comparison to the Green Car Congress graphs is cool.

Listen to this podcast about hybrids. The second item reports a jump in search results about hybrid cars and Toyota Prius.
